Cheap or Fancy Bandsaws?
I started out with a $109 dollar bandsaw from Menards. I used it non stop for about nine years. It did the hard work needed to cut out solid body guitars, although sometimes there was not enough room on the table to swing the body all the way around to do the cuts I wanted. Cutting through 2 inches of poplar or mahogany is pretty tough as well. A couple of years ago I finally invested in a Jet 14 inch bandsaw with a riser block. It was a black Friday special at my local hardware store! I would never go back. Yes you can make the little toys they sell as bandsaws at the big box stores work, but wow, what a difference!
